I Can't Breathe

I'm tired of the opinions. I'm tired of the fighting. I'm tired of trying to get people to believe what I have to say. I'm tired of wrecking my brain with thoughts of why!? I'm tired of trying to get people to throw away their rose colored glasses. I'm tired of seeing people act like infants without a voice, so they begin to tear things apart and throw fits. I'm tired of standing up for what's right and being shot down by people who have no clue what it's like to experience racism. I'm tired of feeling like this. I'm tired of hearing the same things over and over again. I'm tired of everything! I'm tired of black people being murdered in the streets and whites finding excuses to justify it!

So I got angry. Then I prayed. In my righteous anger I asked God what he would say to his people. I know God does not show partiality but God does turn his ear to the righteous.

Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of those who do wrong; for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away. Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun. Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret--it leads only to evil. For evil men will be cut off, but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land. A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found. But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy great peace. The wicked plot against the righteous and gnash their teeth at them; but the Lord laughs at the wicked, for he knows their day is coming. The wicked draw the sword and bend the bow to bring down the poor and needy, to slay those whose ways are upright. But their swords will pierce their own hearts, and their bows will be broken. Better the little that the righteous have than the wealth of many wicked; for the power of the wicked will be broken, but the LORD upholds the righteous. The days of the blameless are known to the LORD, and their inheritance will endure forever. In times of disaster they will not wither; in days of famine they will enjoy plenty. But the wicked will perish: The LORD's enemies will be like the beauty of the fields, they will vanish--vanish like smoke. The wicked borrow and do not repay, but the righteous give generously; those the LORD blesses will inherit the land, but those he curses will be cut off. If the LORD delights in a man's way, he makes his steps firm; though he stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand. I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread. They are always generous and lend freely; their children will be blessed. Turn from evil and do good; then you will dwell in the land forever. For the LORD loves the just and will not forsake his faithful ones. They will be protected forever, but the offspring of the wicked will be cut off; the righteous will inherit the land and dwell in it forever. The mouth of the righteous man utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks what is just. The law of his God is in his heart; his feet do not slip. The wicked lie in wait for the righteous, seeking their very lives; but the LORD will not leave them in their power or let them be condemned when brought to trial. Wait for the LORD and keep his way. He will exalt you to inherit the land; when the wicked are cut off, you will see it. I have seen a wicked and ruthless man flourishing like a green tree in its native soil, but he soon passed away and was no more; though I looked for him, he could not be found. Consider the blameless, observe the upright; there is a future[2]for the man of peace. But all sinners will be destroyed; the future of the wicked will be cut off. The salvation of the righteous comes from the LORD; he is their stronghold in time of trouble. The LORD helps them and delivers them; he delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in him. Psalm 37: 1-40

I also received this from the Lord:

Then two prostitutes came to the king and stood before him. The one woman said, “Oh, my Lord, this woman and I live in the same house, and I gave birth to a child while she was in the house. Then on the third day after I gave birth, this woman also gave birth. And we were alone. There was no one else with us in the house; only we two were in the house. And this woman’s son died in the night, because she lay on him. And she arose at midnight and took my son from beside me, while your servant slept, and laid him at her breast, and laid her dead son at my breast. When I rose in the morning to nurse my child, behold, he was dead. But when I looked at him closely in the morning, behold, he was not the child that I had borne.” But the other woman said, “No, the living child is mine, and the dead child is yours.” The first said, “No, the dead child is yours, and the living child is mine.” Thus they spoke before the king. Then the king said, “The one says, ‘This is my son that is alive, and your son is dead’; and the other says, ‘No; but your son is dead, and my son is the living one.’” And the king said, “Bring me a sword.” So a sword was brought before the king. And the king said, “Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one and half to the other.” Then the woman whose son was alive said to the king, because her heart yearned for her son, “Oh, my Lord, give her the living child, and by no means put him to death.” But the other said, “He shall be neither mine nor yours; divide him.” Then the king answered and said, “Give the living child to the first woman, and by no means put him to death; she is his mother.” And all Israel heard of the judgment that the king had rendered, and they stood in awe of the king, because they perceived that the wisdom of God was in him to do justice. 1 Kings 3:16‭-‬28

The Lord says to the righteous, it may seem that man has stolen your freedom and your rights. They have taken something you worked and labored for. We are all seeking justice. This woman who's baby was stolen was wronged! Her child was stolen from her! She wanted justice! She did the right thing. She didn't take matters into her own hands but instead she went before a wise King. In doing so the wise King saw her love, and saw that she received justice. Stop repaying evil for evil. Seek Jesus and His face! He will show you what to do to receive justice. This woman's love for her own child is what made it clear to the King who was the mother. We need Jesus. We need the Wise King, the Prince of Peace, the King of kings. We don't have to loot and riot to receive the justice we seek. We have to seek God. The one who can do more than just kill someone, but the one who can kill someone and send their soul to hell! The ultimate judge! We want so bad to go straight to our flesh and work this out in our own strength when God is the one who can do more than we could ever imagine! He is the one who will see that justice is served. Let's pray for revival. Let's pray for change. Let's seek God's face on where to go from here to implement change. We can't do this alone, and the only Savior we need is Jesus!
